The Secrets of the Vegetable Diet to Lose Weight

Monday, January 4th, 2010

All of the different diets that you can go on, the vegetable diet to lose weight is probably going to be the one that will be the most successful.  I’m not necessarily talking about short-term results, although you will certainly see these whenever you are eating the vegetable diet.  What I am talking about is long term results that will not only show in the amount of weight that you are carrying around, it will also show in the way that you feel about yourself.  Here are the basics about the vegetable diet to lose weight and how you can incorporate it into your own life.

I’m going to teach you a basic principle about eating vegetables that you may not have known before.  Whenever a farmer wants to fatten up his hogs to send them to market, he is going to feed them cooked vegetables.  The reason why he cooks the vegetables is because he knows that this will put weight on them.  If he were to feed them raw vegetables, they would end up losing weight.  Why?  Because the nutrients that are available in raw vegetables are going to build up their bodies and the digestive process is going to burn a lot more calories whenever they are digesting raw vegetables.  The same is also true for you.

One of the basic principles about the vegetable diet to lose weight is the fact that the food that you eat must be in its raw and live form.  It will do you no good to eat these vegetables after they were cooked, cooked vegetables are dead.  After you heat food above 115°F, something happens to it that causes the enzymes inside of it to die.  These enzymes and amino acids that you typically get whenever you eat this food are no longer going to be living and a lot of the benefits are going to be lost to you.  In order for you to use the vegetable diet to lose weight, you must be eating raw vegetables, there’s no way around it.

I’m going to say something now which goes against one of the principles of the vegetable diet to lose weight but it may be able to help some of you to start on it properly.  It is a much better thing for you to eat vegetables that are lightly steamed than to eat no vegetables at all.  The real key to this is to make sure that your steamed vegetables are warm but crisp.  If they are cooked to the point where they are limp, you will not lose weight.

By adding vegetables into your diet on a regular basis and progressively adding them into the foods that you are already eating, you will stand a much better chance of being successful with the vegetable diet to lose weight.  Remember, this is not a short-term thing that you are doing, it is a lifelong process that will help you to keep the weight off permanently.
