Lemonade Diet – A Healthy Cleanse

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

There are times whenever a diet is just a diet and it is simply a way for you to be able to lose weight but there are other times whenever a diet may extend far beyond that and be something that is good for our overall health.  A good example of this is the lemonade diet, typically referred to as the master cleanse.  This particular diet is not only going to be able to help you lose a lot of weight in a short period of time, it can snap your health back to where it should be if you have lost your way.

The first time that I experienced the lemonade diet, I was amazed with exactly how quickly it was able to take the weight off of me.  I did the diet for over the course of 10 days and during that time, I lost approximately 12 to 14 pounds.  The real surprise as far as the lemonade diet was concerned, however, did not come in the fact that I lost weight.  It gave me was mental clarity and a feeling of goodwill that I have not had in many years.  In itself, this was enough for me to do the lemonade diet and I felt that the benefits of how I felt far outweighed anything else that I got from doing it.

It is not all that difficult to do the diet, provided you are determined that you’re going to stick with it for the long term.  What you’re going to need is to fix yourself a drink which consists of 8 ounces of cold water, two tablespoons of fresh squeezed lemon juice, two tablespoons of raw organic maple syrup and a large pinch of cayenne pepper.  You can drink this drink up to 12 times in a day and provided you space it out properly, hunger should not be a real issue.  The only other thing that you’re going to be able to have on the lemonade diet is a saltwater flush in the morning and a cup of laxative tea in the evening.

Most people are not really prepared well in order to accept what the lemonade diet is going to be able to bring to them.  It helps if you begin to prepare your body for it a week or two in advance by cutting back on the amount of coffee that you drink and the amount of sugar that you are eating.  This will help to reduce your negative side effects and withdrawal symptoms to a minimum.

Over the course of time while you’re doing the lemonade diet, the weight will steadily come off of you and you will begin to feel good from the inside out.  The real key to doing this diet, however, is making sure that you maintain a healthy diet once it is concluded.  In doing so, you will ensure that any weight loss that you achieved during the course of the diet will be with you for a very long time.

Lemonade Diet – Lose Weight Quickly

Friday, January 8th, 2010

There are so many different ways for you to go on a diet, lose weight quickly and get yourself in shape but some are, quite simply, going to work better than others. One diet that many people try on a regular basis is the lemonade diet and although this is more of a fast than a diet, it is still very effective at helping you to drop some pounds very quickly.

One word of caution that I’m going to give you about the lemonade diet is the fact that it is not something that should be considered when you are only looking for short-term goals. Yes, you can drop weight quickly by using the lemonade diet but unless you change your lifestyle afterward, you are not going to be able to maintain that weight loss for the long term.

How Is It Done?

The lemonade diet is often called the Master Cleanse and it is relatively simple to do, even though it may be a little bit difficult to stick with at first. You are going to be limited to drinking one special drink, although you can have as many as 10 or 12 a day if you like. The drink is made from eight to 10 ounces of clear, cold water that is mixed in with two tablespoons of fresh squeezed, organic lemon juice, two tablespoons of raw, organic maple syrup and a healthy pinch of cayenne pepper.

Although this may not sound appetizing to you, you would probably be surprised with exactly how good it is and especially whenever this is all you are really drinking for the course of the entire lemonade diet. Whenever I did it for myself, I actually looked forward to the times whenever I would go down and make myself a fresh batch.

Other things that need to be done on the lemonade diet is that every morning, you need to get up at approximately sunrise and have a saltwater flush. This is made from 1 quart of cold water in which you will mix in two tablespoons of sea salt. This has an effect of you flushing your system, so make sure that you plan on staying home for a little while during it to give it time that it does its work.

In the evenings, you will finish the day with a cup of laxative tea that will also help you to keep things moving. The reason why it is so important to do the saltwater flush and a laxative tea is because you will not be giving your body any solid food or fiber in order to keep your bowels moving.

How Long Should It Be Done?

It is often recommended that you go on the lemonade diet for a minimum of seven days but in my experience, I enjoy doing it for 10 days instead. The reason why this is the case is because I can start on a Monday morning, finish after 10 days and reintroduce myself to regular food in time for the weekend. This means that I am only on the fast for one weekend so I am not making it too inconvenient for the other people in my life.

Some people stay on the lemonade diet for much longer than 10 days and it is recommended according to the book on the subject that you stay on it for as much as 40 days. It really depends on your personal goals and what you are trying to achieve.

What Should I Expect?

Whenever you first start the lemonade diet, you may have a difficult time with going through withdrawal symptoms because of a lack of sugar and caffeine in your diet. If you plan ahead of time, however, and clean up your diet, along with cutting down on the amount of caffeine that you are drinking, you can avoid this problem.

After the first few days, your mind will open up and you will begin to have clarity that you may not have ever had before in your life. It’s interesting, exactly how much you can think whenever you get rid of the junk food that you probably been eating for the majority of your life. Not only that, most of the energy that used to go toward digestion is now being used for your mental powers, so they really do work better.

As far as weight loss is concerned, you will lose anywhere from 10 to 12 pounds or perhaps even more over the course of a week to 10 days on the lemonade diet. Not only will you lose this weight but you will feel much lighter and better after doing this diet and being successful with it.

How Often Should I Do the Lemonade Diet?

It really all depends on your goals, as to how often you should be doing it. People that do it regularly tend to do it about four times per year for a limited duration of anywhere from a week to 10 days. The most important thing is that you get the first time underneath your belt so you can see exactly how wonderful you feel as a result of doing it.

If you have very strict weight loss goals, you should make sure that you go on it regularly but give yourself a little bit of time in between so that you are not slowing down your metabolism as a result of being on a very low calorie diet.

After the Lemonade Diet

The most important part of the lemonade diet is what you are going to do after you are finished being on the strict way of eating. Most people tend to eventually go back to the same lifestyle that they had before and they will just gain all of the weight back that they have lost.

If you use it as a jumping point, however, in order to get yourself into a healthier life you can recognize weight loss results that will stick with you permanently. Why not try the lemonade diet for yourself? Not only will you feel great, you’ll lose weight and that feels great itself.
