Juice Recipes for Weight Loss

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Many of us are interested in losing weight, especially if we have been carrying around that weight for quite some time and perhaps you’re not interested in the long term efforts that are necessary in order to lose it in many cases.  For this reason, you may be looking for some juice recipes for weight loss that can not only help to stimulate the reduction of fat in your body, they may be able to help you to improve your health, overall.

The simple fact of the matter is, a calorie is still a calorie so it really doesn’t matter whether you’re getting them in the form of a juice or if you are eating them.  There are some things that need to be kept in mind, however, and there’s no denying the fact that many of the juice recipes that are available can give you fat burning properties that may assist you in your weight loss efforts.  Since I have used some of these juice recipes for weight loss myself in the past, I thought that I would share them with you and hope that you have the same amount of success that I did.

Clean Juice Recipes for Weight Loss

In order to use these recipes, you’re going to need to have a juicer.  There are several different varieties of juicers that are available and you may have a favorite, depending on the amount of money that you want to spend or your own personal likes and dislikes.  A centrifugal force juicer is the most popular, along with being the most reasonable as far as price is concerned.  From there, you have single and double augur juicers which help to extract more of the juice out of the fruit and vegetables without any pulp included.

There are certain fruits and vegetables that are considered to be cleansing and these would include such things as celery, cucumbers and watermelon.  Something that can be done with a juicer and most certainly should be done is that you should include the entire fruit and vegetable, not simply the part that is typically eaten.

Many of these vegetables can be a little bit difficult to drink as a juice on their own so you might try mixing them with a carrot or some other sweet vegetable juice.  Don’t worry too much about the sugar that is involved in the Sweet vegetables, you are eating very clean and it will not affect your blood sugar significantly in many cases.

The Greens Smoothie

Although this cannot really be considered one of the juice recipes for weight loss, it is similar to a juice and it has some fantastic weight loss properties to it.  As a matter of fact, many people find these to be much more palatable than some of the juices that are available and they are extremely healthy.

You can consider a greens smoothie to be a juice with the pulp included.  Although it is a good idea for you to juice your fruits and vegetables if you have a health problem, it is not always the best idea if you are a healthy individual.  The pulp that you get is going to give your body much of what it needs in order to help you to shed some pounds and to build up some healthy acid in the stomach.

The way that this acid is build up is because you are going to be getting plenty of greens that are easily assimilated by the body.  Simply blend a couple of pieces of fruit, any type, with a large handful of green, leafy vegetables.  Include water and plenty of ice and you will have a delicious drink that is extremely nutritious.  As a side benefit to building up the acid in your stomach, you will be able to get rid of acid reflux and heartburn as this is caused by a lack of acid in the stomach, not too much acid.

Juice Fasting

You might also want to consider going on a fast as this is a very effective way at helping you to lose weight quickly.  It is important for you to keep in mind, however, that juice recipes for weight loss that include fasting are either going to be temporary weight loss or they are going to be a launch pad into a healthier lifestyle.  If you treat them any differently, you’re going to rebound your weight very quickly.

The principles behind a juice fast are rather easy to understand.  Simply juice fruits and vegetables, as many as you like and drink them throughout the day.  Most people who go on this type of fast find it a little bit difficult at first and then easily transition into it after a few days.  You can stay on this fast for as long as you like, provided you are giving your body what it needs in order to maintain itself.

The Master Cleanse

Another type of fasting that includes lemon juice is the master cleanse.  I have done this fast and stayed on it for almost 2 weeks and I have to tell you, not only did I lose a lot of weight but I felt fantastic as a result.

It was fairly easy to do as you only needed to drink a mixture which included two tablespoons of lemon juice, two tablespoons of raw, organic maple syrup and a pinch of cayenne pepper in water.  Drink a glass of this anywhere from eight to 10 times a day and it will give your body what it needs to cleanse itself and the shed the fat that you’re carrying around.

In Conclusion

Although there are many specific juice recipes for weight loss, if you’re juicing your fruits and vegetables you don’t necessarily need to worry about following a specific recipe.  Simply do what tastes good to you and make sure that you keep your calories below what you are burning and you will lose weight as a result.
